Kantha throws have been produced by the women of Bengal for centuries. When the women no longer wear their cotton saris, they quilt together several layers and turn them into decorative and useful items for their families. We love this example of ingenuity and upcycling that contributes greatly to less textile waste.

We source the finest quality vintage throws and work with craftspeople we know and trust to create our modern, embroidered decorative pillows, taking a traditionally upcycled fabric and upcycling it again into something new for your home. As each Kantha is unique, so too are our pillows.

Traditional hand block printing from Jaipur, India, is a revered and centuries-old art form that embodies the rich cultural heritage of the region. This intricate and meticulous craft involves the use of wooden blocks carved with designs often inspired by nature, folklore, or historical motifs.

Artisans carefully apply natural dyes or pigment onto these blocks, which are then pressed onto fabric. The result is a beautifully pattern with highly prized variations that reflects the skill and artistry of the craftsmen.

Each step of the process is done by hand, from carving the blocks to printing the fabric, making it a labor-intensive and time-consuming endeavor.
